If you're planning a trip from Seoul to Busan, a new travel pass may help you save money on transportation and sightseeing.
It's called the K-Tour Pass Busan.
The pass costs ₩15,000 (about $11) and is currently being introduced as a pilot program in Busan.
But what exactly do you get for ₩15,000?
And more importantly:
Is it actually worth buying?
Let's take a closer look.
What Is the K-Tour Pass Busan?
The K-Tour Pass Busan is a travel benefit pass for international visitors traveling to Busan.
The current pilot program began on October 1, 2026.
Instead of functioning like a traditional unlimited transportation pass, it combines transportation benefits, sightseeing, and other travel perks in one package.
The main benefits include:
- A choice of transportation benefits
- A free Busan attraction
- Discounts at participating businesses
- An AREX discount coupon
- A WOWPASS card
The pass costs ₩15,000 (about $10).
What Do You Get?
There are two versions of the pass. The main difference is the transportation benefit.
| Benefit | Pass 1 | Pass 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Price | ₩15,000 | ₩15,000 |
| Main transportation benefit | 40% off one trip to Busan (up to ₩24,000) | ₩24,000 off a 2–5-day KORAIL Pass |
| AREX discount | Up to ₩6,000 | Up to ₩6,000 |
| Busan attraction | 1 free attraction | 1 free attraction |
| Partner discounts | About 50 partners | About 50 partners |
| WOWPASS card | Included | Included |
Note: The current pass and its transportation coupons can be used until December 31, 2026.
The key difference is simple:
Pass 1 is designed for travelers going to Busan, while Pass 2 is designed for travelers who plan to use a 2–5-day KORAIL Pass.
Choose the version that matches your trip.
1. Pass 1: 40% Discount on Transportation to Busan
For travelers heading to Busan, this is potentially the most valuable part of Pass 1.
Pass 1 provides a 40% discount on one eligible transportation trip to Busan, up to a maximum discount of ₩24,000 (about $16).
For example, a standard one-way Seoul–Busan KTX fare is about ₩54,400 (about $37).
A 40% discount would be approximately:
₩54,400 × 40% = ₩21,760 (about $15)
If the discount applies to your fare, that is already more than the ₩15,000 price of the pass.
For travelers coming from Seoul, this is the first number to calculate.
2. Pass 2: KORAIL Pass Discount
Pass 2 is designed for travelers planning broader rail travel around Korea.
It provides a discount of up to ₩24,000 on a 2–5-day KORAIL Pass.
Pass 2 replaces the 40% Busan transportation discount with a KORAIL Pass discount, so choose the version that matches how you plan to travel.
If you're planning to travel to several cities by train, Pass 2 may be more useful than the Busan transportation option.
3. One Free Busan Attraction
Both versions include one free Busan attraction from a participating list of approximately 35 attractions.
Depending on the current participating list, examples may include attractions such as Lotte World Adventure Busan, Songdo Marine Cable Car, and Skyline Luge Busan.
If an attraction on the list is already part of your itinerary, this can add meaningful value to the pass.
4. About 50 Partner Discounts
The pass also provides discounts at approximately 50 participating businesses.
These can include tourism-related businesses and local experiences.
A discount is only useful if you're going to spend money at that business anyway.
So don't add extra activities simply to "use" the pass.
5. AREX Discount
The pass also includes an AREX discount coupon worth up to ₩6,000.
This can be useful for travelers using the Airport Railroad between Incheon International Airport and Seoul.
6. WOWPASS
The K-Tour Pass Busan also includes a WOWPASS card.
WOWPASS is a prepaid travel card designed for international visitors in Korea.
For travelers who are already planning to use WOWPASS, this provides another practical benefit.
The card comes with no balance, so you need to top it up before using it.
How to Buy the K-Tour Pass Busan
You can currently buy the pass through travel platforms such as Klook and HopnHop by Webtour.
Because the pass is currently a pilot program, the available purchase channels and conditions may change.
When purchasing, make sure you select the K-Tour Pass Busan, rather than another Busan tourism pass with a similar name.
How to Pick Up the Pass
After purchasing the pass, you can pick it up at designated locations.
Pickup locations include major airports and transportation hubs such as:
- Incheon International Airport
- Gimpo Airport
- Gimhae Airport
- Seoul Station
- Busan Station
You will generally need your passport and the 8-digit reservation voucher number provided with your purchase.
Make sure you check the pickup location and opening hours before heading there.
Is the K-Tour Pass Busan Worth It?
This is the most important question.
The answer is:
It depends on how you travel.
It can be a good deal if you:
- Take the KTX between Seoul and Busan
- Visit an attraction included in the pass
- Use the transportation discount
- Use one or more partner discounts
- Need the AREX discount
- Plan to use a 2–5-day KORAIL Pass with Pass 2
In this situation, the benefits can exceed the ₩15,000 purchase price.
It may not be worth it if you:
- Don't use the main transportation benefit
- Don't visit any included attractions
- Don't use the partner discounts
- Already have another transportation or tourism pass
- Have a very short Busan itinerary
The key is not the number of benefits.
It's how many of them you will actually use.
“If you're arriving at Incheon Airport and using an airport pickup location, picking up your card after landing can be convenient. You can then use the AREX discount on your way into Seoul. And remember: the current pass and coupons expire on December 31, 2026, so it's only worth buying for a trip this year.”
Good to Know: It Is a Pilot Program
The K-Tour Pass Busan is currently a pilot program.
That means the participating attractions, transportation benefits, purchase channels, pickup arrangements, and other conditions may change.
Always check the current terms and conditions when you purchase the pass.
A wider expansion to five major tourism areas centered around regional airports is planned for 2027.
Don't Confuse It With the Visit Busan Pass
There is another well-known Busan tourism product called the Visit Busan Pass.
The two passes are different.
The K-Tour Pass Busan is a newer pilot product focused on international visitors and combines transportation benefits with attraction and partner benefits.
The Visit Busan Pass is a separate tourism pass with its own attractions and conditions.
Check the name carefully before you buy.
Busan is no longer simply a side trip for travelers who have already seen Seoul.
It is becoming a major destination in its own right.
The new K-Tour Pass Busan makes the journey even more interesting by combining transportation benefits with sightseeing and other travel perks.
If Busan is already on your list, this pass is an easy way to save money on the way there. And if it isn't yet, maybe this is a good reason to add it.
